We are currently in the process over giving the label a major restructure. This restructure is focused on helping out bands in the scene more than ever. In 2013 we will be signing new artists, planning new tours and shows and most importantly helping as many artists in the scene get out there and further expose their music to the masses.

Auckland, NZ based metalcore band Edge of Fury have released a video for their upcoming single ‘The Silence’ - due to be released on iTunes and Spotify this Friday the 7th of September on Black & Red Records.

Influenced by bands like August Burns Red, As I Lay Dying and Alexisonfire – Aderyn Johnston, Ben Stewart, Cameron Tulett, Stuart Simmons and Ash Stewart, released their hard-hitting self-funded debut EP ‘Midnight’ in 2011, proving to be a hit amongst their ever growing fan base. ‘The Silence‘ is the first single from their much anticipated follow up due out in late 2012, and the first song to feature new guitarist John Mckenna following Ash Stewart’s departure.

It is hard to believe that only 18 months ago, Delawarewolves was simply an idea between best friends Jack McWhinney and Josh Todaro. Together they set out to create a hardcore band that would stray from the flooded scene of generic acts, and bring back the fun, yet emotional style of hardcore that existed when they were growing up.  Drawing influences from bands like Comeback Kid, The Warriors, This Is Hell and Blink 182 - they quickly formed a sound that was getting them noticed and begain building up a loyal following in their hometown of Melbourne, Australia.

With the release of their 3-track demo entitled, 'The Party', the band quickly saw themselves sharing the stage with international acts, Antagonist A.D (NZ) and Creations (USA), not to mention some of the Australia's biggest acts in the scene such as 28 Days, Deez Nuts, Dream On Dreamer and Northlane, just to name a few.

In mid-2011, drummer Josh Todaro headed to Los Angeles, California for 3 months to write the band's debut release. When he returned, the band collaborated to finalize the songs and quickly headed into the studio once again with producer Sonny Truelove (Creations, Sienna Skies) to record the 6-track EP ‘From Curses To Verses’.

With their energetic performance and engaging stage presence, they have been impressing crowds everywhere they play - and by grabbing the attention of booking agent/manager Tom Johannesen (Fetch Agency), they've found the missing piece of the puzzle that will help elevate them to the next level.

Coming this July, Delawarewolves will travel to New Zealand for the first time with a 4-date tour of the North Island with rising kiwi metalcore acts Advocates, plus As Colour Fades on selected dates.

Black & Red Records are very pleased to announce their latest signing, pop-punk band Stay Awake – one of the most exciting bands to come out of Christchurch in recent years.

Fueled by their love of music and armed with a mission to revive the glory days of the New Zealand pop-punk scene where local bands ruled the airwaves, this young four piece - lead vocalist/guitarist Matt Clark, guitarist Jesse Bennett, bass player Liam Carroll and drummer Tilaye Tarren-Sweeny – are well on their way to becoming New Zealand’s answer to international icons such as Blink-182 and Yellowcard.

Having won over audiences at the 2012 Parachute Music Festival, the band are looking forward to getting into the studio to work on their yet to be named debut album, expected to drop later this year. The first single from the album is ‘Sirens’ - a huge pop anthem with catchy hooks and a polished energy unlike anything currently on the New Zealand music charts, and will be released in the next couple of months.

With the pop-punk genre enjoying an international resurgence in recent times, the perseverance and determined work ethic of Stay Awake will undoubtedly see their music transcend the boundaries of the local scene and launch the band to all new heights.

Summer might be cooling down, but that doesn’t mean our local music scene is taking a step back. Black & Red Records are pleased to announce their upcoming end-of-summer tour, headlined by Auckland favourites and recent signing Edge Of Fury. Kicking off on February 16, Edge Of Fury are bringing along Wellington band Authors for the entire three date tour (Wellington, Hamilton and Auckland) as well as local support from some of the best and brightest young bands each city has to offer. This tour is not one to be missed…and at only $5, how can you say no?

Having shared the stage with some of the greats from both the NZ and Australian hardcore scenes (Saving Grace, The Amity Affliction, Northlane) as well as helping send off US band Scary Kids Scaring Kids at their final show, Edge Of Fury have proven to put on a live show worth watching. Having already built up a solid fan base through their passion to perform, they are hardworking and determined. Edge Of Fury will undoubtedly continue to do big things in 2012.

Black & Red Records are very pleased to announce the signing of West Auckland-based metalcore band Edge of Fury.

Edge of Fury caught the attention of the label with their new single ‘The War Within’. The single displays an ability to mature the hard-edged metal sound from their self-released debut EP ‘Midnight’, incorporating tasteful melodies which show off their ever improving musicianship and songwriting.

‘The War Within’ will feature on the band’s upcoming EP, due to be released in the first half of 2012 - a release that is sure to become one of the genre’s most anticipated EP’s of the New Year.

Since their inception in 2009, Edge of Fury have proven to be hard working and determined to succeed. Building up a solid fan base through strong live performances, they have gained valuable touring experience by sharing the stage with some of the greats from the New Zealand and Australian hardcore scenes, including: Saving Grace (NZ), The Amity Affliction (AUS) and Northlane (AUS).  They also opened for American act Scary Kids Scaring Kids on their farewell tour of New Zealand in 2010.

With an average age of 20, this young band is showing a lot of promise for now and in the future.  Black & Red Records will be working closely alongside the band to help achieve their goal of becoming a known force around the metal and hardcore communities, both in New Zealand and abroad – starting with an Australian tour in 2012 to support their upcoming EP release.

The recently founded Black & Red Records are pleased to announce the signing of Christchurch-based band Sails Set, as well as the release of their new single ‘Heaven Ends Where The Party Begins’ now available on iTunes worldwide.

Sails Set caught the attention of Black & Red Records right from the band’s formation in early 2011, impressed by their intriguing and explosive brand of hardcore fused with electronic elements which could see them becoming New Zealand’s answer to UK bands Enter Shikari and Bring Me The Horizon.

Sails Set have a refreshing attitude, and aren’t afraid to put in the hard yards. With a determined work ethic and a dedication towards non-stop touring in the age of social networking, even being caught in the middle of February’s tragic earthquake hasn’t stopped Sails Set from pushing forward and doing what they love.
